This is just like Example 3 in the classwork, except you're writing your own equation. Follow these steps for each of the three parabolas you make up:
To write a formula, start with y=x² ... you can add a +/- or a coefficient before the x², or add/subtract a number or x (not squared) after the x² to make each graph different. Examples:
y=2x²
y=x²-3
Make a table (just like example 3) with x values in one row & y values in the other. Use at least 5 values for x (two negatives, 0, two positives).
Plot the points you found on the graph. Ex: x=-2, y=-1 gives the point (-2, -1).
Connect the points with a curved line to make a parabola.
